Garage Floor Readiness Score

SFL Epoxy is a guide run by Terragroupe, LLC. We do not install anything and we are not booking jobs yet.

The Garage Floor Readiness Score asks a few questions about your home, your floor and your timing. A higher score means more to sort out before a coat goes on. Only a test of your own slab confirms the result.

Garage Floor Readiness Score

Answer each question. The score shows how much needs sorting out before a coating, and which answers added the most. It is a starting point, not a price or a promise.

How the score is worked out

The score rests on what manufacturer data sheets, Building Science Corporation and city permit pages say about slab moisture, surface prep, weather limits and who controls the garage 1 2. Damp patches, a lifting old coating and a summer start add the most points because they match the failure mechanisms in those sources. The city or ZIP you type is not scored and is not sent in the web address. The point values are set by judgment. They are not fitted to measured garages, and we will say so here if that changes.

Add the points for your answers, divide by 79 and multiply by 100. Every question needs an answer.

How to read your result

The score counts what needs attention before a coating. Points are our arithmetic, a rule of thumb, not measured data. A low score means a simpler job. A high score means more to sort out, and it is not a verdict on your garage.

The score is not a price. For cost ranges and what moves them, read the cost guide.

What the score cannot tell you

It cannot see your slab. Only a moisture test and a look at the surface can show what the concrete will hold. It also cannot say whether your city requires a permit, because the city pages we read do not name epoxy or floor coatings. Read the permit and HOA guide and call your building department.

We will adjust them with a local installer's input and change the date on this page when we do.
